Hello! I’m a 30-something mother of two small children, who’s randomly decided to start creating a product to sell and make a (small) fortune. Or a living, at least.
When I put it like that, it sounds crazy.
Perhaps it is crazy.
Not only that, but I’ve decided that I’m going to blog about my journey to get the business up and running, share the highs, the lows, the triumphs (please let there be triumphs!) and the mistakes for your information/amusement.
In all seriousness, I do hope that people reading this do find at least some of it worthwhile. Maybe you’re thinking of starting a business of your own (physical products, or otherwise) and want a few hints. Maybe you’ll find some of the books, podcasts, websites and and businesses I’ve used useful.
I’m going to be really open and honest about what I’m doing and why and how it’s been. So hopefully it’ll be an interesting read if nothing else!
In my previous, corporate life-before-children I did a lot of writing (I worked in change management and communications) and it was part of the role I always loved. So I’m hoping this will be something I enjoy too.
As I said above, I’m in my mid-thirties, I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old at the time of writing and I’m the proud owner of Tiny Chipmunk. My vision for the brand is to create high quality, unique, well-designed products that parents and babies will love.
Of course, this isn’t even the beginning, as you’re probably (hopefully!) wondering why I’m doing this, why baby products, why an Amazon business, what the goal is…
Don’t worry, all will be revealed!
