Why this matters
Q4 is the busiest time of the year on Amazon. Shoppers are already searching for gifts, delivery windows are tightening, and advertising costs are climbing.
The good news is that a few small checks now can make a big difference to how smoothly things run – and how much you sell.
Here are four areas worth reviewing before the final rush.
1. Check your inventory
It sounds obvious, but it’s often where things slip.
If you’re using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), make sure you have enough stock to last well into December – ideally through to January. FBA processing times are longer than usual at this time of year, so plan shipments early and allow extra time for receiving.
If you fulfil orders yourself, double-check your packaging, delivery cut-offs and staffing plans. Running out of stock – or struggling to dispatch quickly enough can hurt your performance metrics long after the holidays end.
2. Optimise your listings
Your listings should reflect how customers are shopping right now.
Searches for phrases such as gift for him, Secret Santa, and stocking filler rise sharply in November and December. Update your titles, bullet points and descriptions to highlight the ‘giftability’ of your products and include relevant seasonal search terms where appropriate.
If you use A+ Content, review your imagery and modules. Simple changes like showing products being unboxed or given as presents can help customers visualise them as gifts.
3. Refresh your Amazon Storefront
Your Storefront is your brand’s own mini-shop on Amazon, and Q4 is a great time to make it work harder.
Add a ‘Gift ideas’ or ‘Christmas collection’ page to help customers browse quickly. Group products by theme or price – for example, gifts under £20 or eco-friendly presents.
Featuring bundles or complementary items together can increase average order value and make shopping easier for your customers.
4. Review your advertising campaigns
Advertising competition increases during Q4, and so does customer intent. The brands that perform best are the ones that monitor their campaigns closely rather than simply increasing budgets.
Check that:
- Your top-performing keywords are still relevant
- Your ads point to the best-converting listings or Store pages
- Budgets and bids reflect current demand
Even small, daily adjustments can help you stay visible and avoid wasted spend.
A quick recap
Taking time now to review your inventory, listings, storefront and ads can save a lot of stress later in the month – and may be the difference between a steady December and a frantic one.
